American rapper, Megan Thee Stallion has hinted that she will be making a guest appearance in Stranger Things season five.
Over the weekend, Megan Thee Stallion posted a seven-image carousel to her personal Instagram account.
In the fifth image of the series, the star can be seen against a green screen holding Stranger Things-branded cue cards.
Elsewhere in the carousel, the WAP rapper can be seen backstage in hair and make-up. She is also sitting on a black director’s chair that is emblazoned with the ‘Netflix’ logo.
Could nail art hint at a Stranger Things season five character?
Moreover, her nails further signal Megan Thee Stallion’s Stranger Things season five appearance. Her nails depict black widow spider nail art.
As avid Stranger Things fans will know, the same black widow spiders prominently featured in season four. They were favoured by Henry Creel AKA Vecna.
So, if all of those not-so-subtle hints don’t correlate to a guest appearance from Megan Thee Stallion, we’ll be very surprised.
The Duffer Brothers say maybe not to new characters
However, Stranger Things creators Matt Duffer and Ross Duffer have already said that they are apprehensive about introducing new characters to Hawkins in season five.
Talking to IndieWire, Ross Duffer said, “Whenever we introduce a new character, we want to make sure that they’re going to be an integral part of the narrative.”
“But every time we do that, we’re nervous because you go, ‘We’ve got a great cast of characters here and actors, and any moment we’re spending with a new character, we’re taking time away from one of the other actors,’ So we’re just very, very careful about whom we’re introducing.” He continued.
What else has Megan Thee Stallion acted in?
If the rapper does make an appearance in Hawkins, it won’t be her first television cameo.
In 2021 she appeared in the comedy series, Good Girls. In 2022, she had cameos on an episode of P-Valley as well as Marvel’s She-Hulk. The latter saw her twerking with She-Hulk, who is played by powerhouse Tatiana Maslany.
So, what do we thing about the Megan Thee Stallion universe expanding? And, what can we expect from Stranger Things season five?
When will Stranger Things season five be out?
Right now, season five details are still under wraps. At the time of writing, there is no confirmed release date. However, we can expect Stranger Things season five no earlier than the summer of 2024.
