One in three cheeky pub visits are now alcohol-free

Is alcohol-free the future of drinking?

New data collected by beverage brand, Lucky Saint, reveals that 291 million annual visits to the pub are now alcohol-free

The drinks brand has partnered with KAM Research and Insights to create the Low & No Report 2022. The research shows how customer attitudes and behaviours are driving rapid growth in the low and no drinking sectors.

Access to the full Low & No Report 2022 will cost you a hefty £495. However, some of the staggering statistics have been shared via LinkedIn.

A LinkedIn post by Lucky Saint reads, “Following the launch event last week, Lucky Saint is proud to present the Low & No Report 2022. In partnership with KAM Research and Insights, the full report is now available to download,”

Alcohol-Free Statistics

Some headlines that Lucky Saint have shared from the report include that nearly one in three  (29%) of pub visits are now alcohol-free.

Elsewhere, the beverage brand reveals that 65% of people list having an alcohol-free draught option as a reason to visit a pub. No need for than hangover prevention pill then!

Interestingly, apparently, 37% of consumers drink alcohol-free at home at least once a week. Taste is also apparently the number one most important factor when choosing an alcohol-free option.

One LinkedIn user commented on the post saying, “Hey guys, absolutely love your beer. But you’re very, very overpriced when it comes to competitors… 24 pack of most [alcoholic] beer often £15 or less. Do a guy a favour,”

Lucky Saint responded, “one of the findings in the report was that people have long associated ABV with [money] – in the past, people had expected alcohol-free to be cheaper as they thought they were paying for alcohol content.”

“But this is changing. Now people’s [number one] reason for choosing alcohol-free is taste – they are willing to pay for quality and flavour.”

Another user commented, “Love this, super interesting insights.”
