While we’ve all got some time indoors, and away from socialising, you may be thinking about how you can best utilise your time. You might have taken up running, maybe you’ve picked up a paintbrush for the first time in a while, or you could even just be catching up on that Netflix show that everyone’s been going on about. No judgement here.
However, have you considered that now is the optimum time to lower your alcohol intake? A study featured on One Year No Beer has shown that 92% of people felt ‘noticeably better’ after 90 days of abstaining from alcohol, while 71% felt more productive, and 81% had reduced anxiety. And in a time like the present, reducing anxiety can only be a good thing!
There’s also some physical benefits too. In 2015, Professor Kevin Moore of the Royal Free Hospital, London, co-authored one of the largest ever studies into the effects of a four-week break from alcohol. Upon completion, he found that participants of the study had each lost on average: 40% of their liver fat, and 3KG in weight. That’s some seriously impressive stats!
If you’re the kind of person who likes having a support network, then you might be glad to know that there is an incredible programme that has been completed by 70,000 people called One Year No Beer. It’s the leading habit-changing programme with a 95% success rate, and they want you to get involved!

One Year No Beer says: “The problem with any other alcohol free programme is theyre just a quick fix. They identify drink is a problem and focus on the negatives instead of the positive,
“People give up alcohol but the niggling thoughts, the cravings and for most, they end up eventually giving in and going back to drink. At One Year No Beer we focus on the habit changing process So rather than just deleting alcohol from your life,
“Well help you break down and rebuild new habits and a new mindset that gives you complete control, that will last way past finishing your challenge.”
