The heat is definitely on thanks to the return of the fan-favouite Love Island ‘heart rate challenge’. As temperatures rise in the Mallorca Love Island villa, so do the tensions. Last night (Tuesday 28 June) episode 23 of Love Island aired and it really was a firecracker.
If you managed to miss it or just want to relive the drama, here is everything that went down during the heart rate challenge on the ITV2 show last night.
Dirty Dancing
The traditional temptation challenge finally returned to the Love Island villa. The aim of the game was to raise the other islander’s heart rates the most, The Islanders dressed to impress before treating each other to a rather risqué dance.
Of course, as per tradition, the dance challenge caused quite the stir.
Ekin-Su kissed Davide. This kiss was then reciprocated when Davide performed a dance for Ekin-Su. I can’t get that image of David as a masked bandit out of my mind. Could the romance be rekindling between these frenemies as we speak?
Elsewhere, Charlie cringed out the cast by being unable to tear away his pants. See below for the hilarious reaction from twitter.
Love Island revelations
Also left red-faced was Tasha. Partner Andrew’s pulse quickened most for Danica. Cue the drama.
Danica actually admitted to being interested in Andrew earlier in the episode. When you put two and two together, what do you get? An understandably angry Tasha, that’s what.
Later in the episode, Andrew reassured Tasha of his feelings toward her. However, after a pretty few rocky days – will they remain coupled up in episode 24?
Tasha wasn’t the only Islander to get hot-headed over the heart rate challenge results. The drama unfolded when it was revealed that Gemma and her ex-boyfriend Jacques both raised each other’s heart rate the most.
This revelation led to Paige questioning whether her partner, Jacques, was still interested in Gemma.
Interestingly, Indiyah also voiced concerns about her partner’s commitment. It was revealed that Dami had his heart-rate raised most by Paige. However, the couple later rekindled. I’m always rooting for Damiya.
Luca also later confessed that the dance challenge left him wondering about the connection between him and Gemma. It looks like it might not just be Andrew and Tasha breaking up this week.
Right now, it’s all to play for. According to Paddy Power, however, our winning boy could actually already in the villa. Who could our season eight Love Island king and queen be? Stay tuned.
During the Love Island heart rate challenge, social media went mad. We’ve scoured Twitter and found the top 11 most iconic tweets and memes.
Michael Owen (Gemma’s dad) also weighed in on the heart rate challenge. I am deceased.
