The statement, tweeted by Swift herself, reads: “I’m enchanted to announce my next tour: Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour, a journey through the musical eras of my career (past & present!) The first leg of the tour will be in stadiums across the US, with international dates to be announced as soon as we can!”
The announcement of The Eras Tour comes after her latest album, Midnights was released on October 21.
Midnights broke the Spotify record for the most single-day streams for an album in one day and also marked Swift’s 11th number-one album in the US.
When will the US start?
In support of Midnights, Swift will kick off the 20-date US Eras Tour on March 18 2023, in Glendale, Arizona.
Interestingly, this is also where the singer began her Reputation tour in 2018. Does the city have a special place in Swift’s heart?
It must do as the Arizona show will also feature an exclusive support slot from Paramore. This will be the band’s first and only appearance on the newly-announced tour schedule.
Joining Swift and Paramore in Arizona is American pop singer, GAYLE.
Who is supporting Taylor Swift on tour?
Elsewhere, support for the US leg of the tour comes in the form of Phoebe Bridgers, beabadoobee, girl in red, MUNA, sister trio HAIM, Gracie Abrams and OWENN.
It should also be mentioned that since Swift’s pre-pandemic Reputation tour, the singer has released four albums.
These records are ‘Lover’ (2019), folklore (2020), evermore (2020) and Midnights (2022).
And, as Swift has described this tour as “a journey through the musical eras of my career (past and present!),” that means that if you’re an evermore enthusiast or a Lover worshiper, there should be something for everyone.
When can you buy US Eras Tour tickets?
The US public on-sale takes place on November 18 2022 at 10 am local time.
According to Variety, there will also be an earlier rollout of tickets for Capital One credit card holders. This will apparently take place on November 15, at 10 am local time.
At the time of writing, we don’t yet know when international tour dates will be revealed.
But UK and international readers – hang tight. We’ll be sure to let you know when Swift announces overseas Eras Tour dates.
